What does it mean when women over 50 start saying that they feel invisible? Invisible Woman Syndrome is a common experience for many women over the age of 50. This term describes the feeling of being overlooked or disregarded in society, particularly in media and advertising. Celebrities like Paulina Porizkova and Justine Bateman have spoken out about their own experiences with this phenomenon, bringing attention to the issue.
Recently, Melissa and Terri discussed the topic of Invisible Woman Syndrome, prompted by a polarizing video featuring Porizkova and Bateman. While both women expressed frustration with the lack of representation for women their age in mainstream media, Terri struggled to connect with Paulina's specific experiences and as always, Melissa is the voice of reason.
During the conversation, they decided to try an old school experiment: affirmations. They wondered if positive affirmations could change the way they carried themselves and in turn, change the way others viewed them. It's an approach that's worth trying because it focuses on personal growth and fulfillment, rather than external validation, which is probably what Terri was trying to get at all along.
